guacamole (basic recipe)


Ingredients

avocados 2
limes 2
onions 50 gram
salt 1 dash
pepper 1 dash
cayenne pepper 1 dash

Preparation

  1. Squeeze the limes (keeping the juice). The avocados should be ripe when bought, but not over-ripe.
  2. Peel and halve the avocado, then remove the pit. Spoon the pulp into a bowl and immediately sprinkle with the juice of one lime.
  3. Peel the onion, finely chop, and add to the avocado. Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Using a fork, squash to a homogeneous mass (or puree).
  4. While squashing/pureeing, carefully add a bit of lime juice at a time, adding salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, if needed.
  5. Serving suggestionServe as a dip, or with nacho chips, or tortillas.
