delicious basic tomato sauce
Ingredients

| onions (red) | 100 gram | |
| garlic | 1 clove | |
| ginger | 20 gram | |
| chili pepper | 1 | |
| lemon grass | 1 bunch | |
| limes | 4 leaf | |
| olive oil | 4 tablespoon | |
| sugar | 1 dash | |
| coriander | 1 tablespoon | (chopped) |
| basil | 1 tablespoon | (chopped) |
Preparation
- Peel and slice the onion and garlic. Cut the ginger into very small cubes. Cut the lemon grass in half, rinse thoroughly under warm water, together with the lime leaves.
- Heat the oil and glaze the onion. Add the garlic, ginger, chili (whole), and lemon grass, and fry for a couple of minutes.
- Add the (canned) peeled tomatoes, then add the lime leaves, and leave to simmer for 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and sugar, then remove the sauce from the heat.
- Leave to soak for 1 hour, then remove the chili, lemon grass, and lime leaves. Add a dash of olive oil, season to taste with salt and pepper.
