pear in puff pastry
Ingredients
| filo dough (ready made) | 3 slice | |
| Williams pear | 1 can | |
| apricots | 80 gram | (dried) |
| walnuts | 60 gram | |
| sugar | 50 gram | |
| egg | 1 | |
| egg yolk | 1 | |
| milk | 2 tablespoon |
Preparation
- Defrost the ready-made filo dough / puff pastry.
- Preheat the oven to 200C.
- Leave the canned pears (halved) to drain.
- For the filling, finely chop the apricots and walnuts, then, in a bowl, mix together with the sugar and the egg.
- Cut the slices of puff pastry into halve, then roll out to squares of approx. 14 x 14cm. Place a pear half on each puff pastry square. Fill each pear half with a teaspoon of the apricot and walnut mix. Form the puff pastry into little 'ships' (so that the pears are contained, but not covered by the pastry), then place the puff pastry squares on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Mix together the egg yolk and milk, and brush the pastry.
- Bake off for 15 minutes, until light brown.
