chicken in white wine


Ingredients

turnips 500 gram
carrots 300 gram
spring onion 1 bunch
chicken parts 1 kg
salt 1 pinch
pepper 1 pinch
oil 3 tablespoon
wine (white) 300 ml
sweet cream 100 ml
sauce thickener 1 dash
thyme 1 dash

Preparation

  1. Clean the turnip, carrots, and spring onions, then cut them into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Salt and pepper the chicken parts. Heat the oil in a stew pot, and quickly soar the chicken (at high temperature), then add the turnip and carrots.
  3. Add the whine and 500ml of (preferably warm) water, and bring to boil. Season to taste with pepper and salt, then add the chicken stock.
  4. Cover the stew pot with a lid, reduce the heat, and leave to simmer for 30 minutes. Five minutes before the end of the cooking time, add the spring onions to the pot.
  5. Add the sweet cream, and reduce the sauce a bit. If necessary, add sauce thickener.
  6. Serving suggestionServe hot, with tagliatelle noodles.
    Tip!Add some chive cut into fine rings, or herbs and spices to your taste. Vary the vegetables to your taste.
