caramel appels on a stick


Ingredients

crystal sugar 500 gram
apples (small) 12

Preparation

  1. Melt the sugar with 4 tablespoons water in a pan (without lid) on slow heat. Stir until all the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Increase the heat and reduce the sugar and water mix to caramel for 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown. Be careful so the caramel doesn't turn to dark or it will taste bitter.
  3. Push one stick (or skewer) into each apple and immerse one by one in the caramel. Leave to drip for a few seconds on top of the pan, then place them on baking paper.
  4. Tip!Be quick immersing the apples, otherwise the caramel might turn too hard for use.
