Obazda (cheese spread from Bavaria)


Ingredients

caraway 1 teaspoon
butter (unsalted) 1 tablespoon
camembert 220 gram
cream cheese 200 gram
shallots 3 (chopped)
chives 2 bunch (chopped)
beer (dark) 5 tablespoon
paprika powder (sweet) 2 teaspoon
paprika powder (hot) 2 teaspoon
salt 1 dash
radish 1 bunch

Preparation

  1. Crush the caraway with the back of a spoon, then mix with the soft butter.
  2. In a different bowl, crush and mix the Camembert and the cream cheese using a fork. Carefully add the shallots and chives.
  3. Season to taste with beer, paprika powder, salt and pepper. Then add the caraway-butter mix, and stir until the mass is smooth.
  4. Cut the radish into thin slices, and spread over 4 plates or glasses. Add the cheese mix, then decorate with chives.
  5. Serving suggestionServe with dark bread.
